Mormons Assist Junior Diabetes Research Fundraising
Volunteers from the Christina Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lakeland helped staff the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation Walk held at Lake Hollingsworth recently. The walks help raise money for research. Volunteers provided support for the event by manning the booths, registration, t-shirt hand out, food, and the children’s area , etc. Thirty-three volunteers spent a total of 198 hours helping at the walk as participants in the annual Day of Service. Melissa Williams, participant and organizer said, “It went great!”
