Cleaning Up Lake Parker Park

Volunteers from The Crystal Lake Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently picked up litter in the Lake Parker Park and along the lakeshore as part of the Day of Service.  This was one of many projects being carried out throughout the Southeastern United States.  The City of Lakeland Department of Parks and Services provided the garbage bags, litter pickers, and plastic gloves.  Forty-five volunteers spent a total of 101.5 hours cleaning up the area.  At least 28 bags of garbage was collected.  After the clean-up the volunteers remained in the park at a pavillion to have a cook out and to play soccer and to enjoy the park’s many activities.
