Finding Joy Serving Others on Day of Service

“Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently participated in ten community service projects in Polk County on a Day of Service. This has become an annual event to be held on the last Saturday of April. This year we had 390 volunteers, both members and friends who joined with us. A total of 1157.5 volunteer hours were donated to help our community. Lori Waters, Director of Public Affairs for The Church in Polk County said, “I love the Day of Service! We have had lots of positive experiences and received much joy from the Day of Service. What a great way to reach out to our community and unite! What a great way for our children to learn service in their communities! What a great way to share our love for others and for our Savior, Jesus Christ, by serving and feeding his sheep! Karl Sweeney, president of the congregations throughout Polk County added, “We appreciate our community partners and look forward to serving them again.” See additional posts for details of each project.”"Linking Arms, Helping Hands"
