Mormons Assemble Snack Kits and Collect Cell Phones for Victims of Domestic Violence

Volunteers from the Winter Haven congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered recently to help victims of domestic violence.  For the month prior to this Day of Service, cell phones and items were collected for snack kits to be donated to the Harbor House Service.  The snack kits are given to comfort families the first night they are in the emergency shelter of the Harbor House.  The cell phones are converted in to 911 phones and given to those at risk.  Eight-one volunteers met at the Winter Haven meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and assembled 175 snack kits which exceeded their original goal of 150.  Four cell phones were collected.
