Shining Up Sunshine Foundation Dream Village

 (Citrus Ridge Ward of Davenport)

Members of the Citrus Ridge Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently volunteered at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village in Davenport.  Volunteers helped prepare for their big Spring event.  Thirty-nine volunteers spent a total of ninety-four hours pressure washing, painting, pruning, raking, and scrubbing, the entry, pool area.  Dayne Bratsman, bishop of the Citrus Ridge Ward was excited that “the grounds and cottages looked beautiful and clean” when they were done.  Simon Lia who helped with his family at this event said, “Sometimes, work itself is the cure for many things.  We not only helped the Sunshine Foundation “shine” a little brighter.  We left feeling a little better about ourselves.  How often, as a family, do you get to experience that?  We all have struggles and when we stop focusing on our own concerns and focus on the interests of others, life seems to improve for everyone.”
