Banana Lake Boat Ramp Closed for Repairs

June 17th, 2010 4:03 pm | by Friends of the Parks by Glenda Mink

Due to recent erosion underneath the boat ramp approach, Polk County’s Parks and Natural Resources Division will temporarily close the popular Banana Lake Boat Ramp for repairs beginning Friday, June 18.  The Banana Lake Boat Ramp, located at the end of Tillery Road off Clubhouse / CR 540, will remain closed until further notice.   However, the remainder of Banana Lake Park recreational amenities – picnic shelters, restrooms, playground, open play area and walking / jogging path will be open for public use.  For more information, contact James Kummer, Parks and Recreation District Manager, at 499-2613 or jameskummer@polk-county.net.

FRIENDS OF THE PARKS FOUNDATION is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that was established to promote and support public parks and recreation activities in Polk County.  Citizens interested in joining our volunteer efforts are encouraged to visit our website for more information:  www.friendsoftheparks.net.
