‘Polk Vision Refresh’ Revising Priorities and Strategies

Polk Vision, a comprehensive vision for the future and the mechanism with which to build it, is revising the original priorities and strategies developed in 2004. “Polk Vision Refresh” will be conducted through focus groups, social media communications, surveys and task force meetings. The organization encourages community input in the “refresh” process through a series of open meetings to be held at the LTB Auditorium of the PSC/USF Poly Lakeland Campus from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The strategies focus on six areas: education, quality of life, economic development, infrastructure, private sector leadership and government, and citizens with interests in any of these areas are needed to help determine the changes needed for the revision.

Taking advantage of technology, Polk Vision is also making these open meetings available online as live interactive webcasts. Anyone who can’t make it to the meeting location can still participate in the brainstorming process via the internet. By logging on to one of the internet host sites listed below, participants can watch the presentations and discussions – and submit their own comments and suggestions to the group. This is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in Polk County’s future to engage – even if they aren’t in the area during the meetings.
