Polk’s Nature Discovery Center Hosts Compost Workshop

Polk’s Nature Discovery Center is hosting a Compost Workshop on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Center’s Workshop. This workshop emphasizes the importance of reusing and recycling waste. You will learn the many methods of composting, and what will work best for you. This class is free of charge, but you may purchase an Earth Machine compost bin ($40) or kitchen scrap bucket ($5). If you would like to attend this workshop you can call Polk’s Nature Discovery Center or pre-register online at the link provided below. However, you MUST pre-register for this workshop if you would like a compost bin. This workshop is presented by the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Service, Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program, the City of Lakeland Lakes and Stormwater Division, and the City of Lakeland Water Utilities Department.
