USF Poly’s Extended University offers fall programs

The University of South Florida Polytechnic’s Extended University is now accepting applications for the following fall programs.

• Beginning AutoCAD Training. Tuesdays, Sept. 14 – Nov. 16, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Learn the basic commands necessary to create professional 2D drawings, design and drafting using Auto-CAD 2010. Early registration fee by Sept. 7: $500. Regular registration fee: $550. Details and registration online at poly.usf.edu/AutoCAD
• Control Systems Certificate. September 2010 – February 2011. Enhance your knowledge and skills in control systems with one of three options: Rockwell Automation Certificate (three core courses, one elective), USFP Certificate (four core courses, two electives) or on-demand courses (three to choose from). • HR Practitioner’s Certificate. September 2010 – May 2011. Dates vary, all evening courses. Obtain the knowledge and skills to be prepared in the human resources field. Complete seven core courses and one elective to obtain the certificate. Courses include such topics as employment law, successful hiring, OSHA, benefits and compensation, leadership styles, training and effective communication. Registration fees vary. • Nonprofit Management Certificate Program. Oct. 7-8. Gain the education and skills you need to excel in the nonprofit field. Successfully complete the four courses to obtain the certificate. Courses include Leadership and Governance for Nonprofits, Program Development and Marketing, Nonprofit Financial Management and Grant Writing. Registration fee: $99 per course. • SupplyPoint Proposal and Engineering Assistance Training. Oct. 26, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Participate in an interactive workshop that trains Florida manufacturing companies in techniques to submit quotes for government and prime contractor procurement. This workshop and networking session focus on defense acquisition. Registration fee: $35 (includes continental breakfast and lunch). Details and registration online at poly.usf.edu/PEAT
