To find more homes, the SPCA has reduced adoption fees for all cats and any dog over 30 pounds. Cat adoption fees are only $15 and that fee is reduced to $5 for cats that are over 7 years old or adopters over 60 years old. Starting September 1, any dog over 30 pounds can be adopted for only $60.

167 ate dinner with the SPCA that night and over $900 was raised through the dinners, retail sales and money gathered at the event for donations. We are now hoping to do this event quarterly!

Kissimmee Chain
The bite has definitely slowed on Kissimmee. Not as many fish hanging around brushpiles as there was a month ago. Bass are mostly in shad chasing mode now and feeding mostly at night. Blossom is a gorgeous 3 year old Labrador Retriever mix. She came to the SPCA on May 31 from a Shreveport, Louisiana transport. She’s not too fond of cats but gets along great with other dogs and people.

The SPCA is one of just 50 shelters in the entire country that’s competing in ASPCA $100K Challenge to Save More Lives. The grand prize is a $100,000 grant for the winning shelter.

The SPCA quickly responded to a cry from the Gulf Coast Oil Spill and as you are reading this email, staff and volunteers are accepting the second transport of a total of 21 animals from the Louisiana area.
